Corporate social responsibility company policy

Policy brief & purpose

This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) company policy refers to our responsibility toward our environment, serves to formalise all those unspoken practices that we MCET observe every day without conscious thought.  Our company’s existence is small but not lonely. It’s part of a bigger system of people, values, other organisations and nature. The social responsibility of a business is to give back to our community just as it gives to us.

We want to be a responsible business that meets the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

Our company’s social responsibility falls under two categories: compliance and proactiveness.

Compliance refers to our company’s commitment to legality and willingness to observe community values. Proactiveness is every initiative to promote human rights, help communities and protect our natural environment.

Our company will:

  • Respect the law
  • Honour its internal policies
  • Ensure that all its business operations are legitimate
  • Keep every partnership and collaboration open and transparent

  • Don’t risk the health and safety of our employees and community.
  • Support diversity and inclusion.

Donations and aid

  • Alleviate those in need, both human and animal

Volunteering

Our company will encourage its employees to volunteer. They can volunteer through programs organised internally or externally. Our company will sponsor volunteering events from other organisations.

Preserving the environment

Apart from legal obligations, our company will proactively protect the environment. Examples of relevant activities include:

  • Recycling
  • Conserving energy
  • Using environmentally-friendly technologies

NHS Trust Procurement Exercise

OK so I need to blow our trumpet again!!!!!

I was thrilled to discover yesterday that an NHS Trust has spent more or less the entire of 2015 carrying out a 'Secret Shopping' exercise after completing a 3 year contract which they are very glad to be out of.

They bought a range of Shredding Machines of various makes from various sources then had their maintenance team disable them in order to guage which service agents and manufacturers were actually providing the best service not just talking the talk, and I am happy to say, yes, it was MCET.

We were judged on response times, product & industry knowledge, staff appearance & attitude, availability to name but a few and we came on top so in addition to securing that business we have now also been appointed UK Service agents for a major manufacturer of shredding machines who would also like to train our engineers on their print finishing machinery RESULT.

Once again guys this is all down to you keep up the excellent work it really is much appreciated you are a credit to MCET but more importantly to yourself - Thank you

Julie Pound, Tamworth

Thanks Carol. Jim has been a credit to your company – full communication and was really happy to help even though we added things here and there. Thanks so much.

We used a contractor for on-site destruction of confidential material, although found that with ever increasing costs, it became necessary to look for alternative options. The chosen option was to shred in-house, by way of shredders. We initially purchased around £100k worth of shredders which has cut out confidential waste expenditure by around £50k in the first year. However, in order to maintain the new fleet of shredders, along with the existing assets, I use the services of MCET as I have found their service to be reliable, cost effective and, importantly, honest – I’m not sold repairs or replacement machines I don’t need.

Further to our earlier telephone conversation I have pleasure in providing a quotation for a comparable machine to your existing model, price includes machine with 3 year warranty provided by MCET so no third party to contact if the worst should happen, delivery and collection and disposal (if required) of redundant machinery.

Your current machine is a 48 litre machine with 440W motor when making comparisons these are the two factors to consider all other features are really smoke and mirrors this tells you the machines capacity and power.

We would recommend an ??????? this machine is both powerful, compact and offers compliance under data protection for destruction of your confidential material.

Hi Carol

I hear the shredder has been delivered already.........that was quick amazing service and spot on advice as always. I hadn't had time to raise the purchase order following my telephone order!!!!!

Kind Regards

We came across MCET 4 years ago when on the verge of a massive fine from ICO partly as a result of buying the wrong shredding machines for our requirements. After the first meeting, I think I've already said this, I was sceptical because on meeting and discussing your services I felt they were too good to be true and we all know where that usually ends ... However we were desperate and decided to take the plunge and MCET have NEVER made us think twice about that decision all those promises from that first meeting came to speedy fruition, quick fixes were initiated to avoid the fines MCET installed compliant loan equipment within 48 hours free of charge whilst they did an audit and placed the correct machines for our long term use and the whole thing was so much cheaper than the fines we were facing. Carol I can not thank you enough never think of anyone else when it comes to shredders you are always at the end of the phone for advice and always have the solution.

First time experience of buying a shredder from this company - The customer service that I received from Carol was outstanding . It is unfortunately a long time since I have experienced service this good. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this company to anyone.
